SCHOOL OF LEARNING AND DISCIPLESHIP

WHAT IS S.O.L.D.?

The School of Learning and Discipleship provides solid biblical teaching for our community, directed at offering biblical solutions and application for a variety of real-life issues. S.O.L.D. exists in order to teach believers and reach unbelievers so they might become more like Christ in their thoughts, speech, and actions.

Although the following is not an exhaustive list, Friendly Avenue’s S.O.L.D. classes generally survey the following disciplines of study each semester:

  • Theology: Studies concerning Baptist doctrines of faith
  • Apologetics: Studies that explore questions and objections to the Christian faith in order to offer biblically-centered answers
  • Christian Growth: Studies that seek to strengthen faith through spiritual discipline(s)
  • Christian Ministry/Leadership: Studies that prepare and train for ministry opportunities in the local church
  • Family & Marriage: Studies which promote biblically spiritual growth within families
  • Women’s Ministry: Studies that biblically equip and encourage women to serve God
  • Men’s Ministry: Studies that biblically equip and encourage men to serve God
  • Inductive Bible Study: Studies that demonstrate how to exegetically interpret the Bible
  • Stewardship Study: Studies that provide a biblical foundation for issues of money and godly stewardship
